SYPP Gender Justice School!!

  • —  Straight talk about gender and sexuality
  • —  Breaking down how oppression works and how to fight it
  • —  Shining a light on sexism, homophobia, transphobia, & gender and sexual violence, while making connections to race and class
  • —  A dose of movement history, bringing women, queer, and trans folks out the closet of our history books
  • —  Turn this information and analysis into action and design projects with other youth

The SYPP School is a school like no other. There are no lectures. There are no “teachers.” It’s a school where you know that your experiences are creating the curriculum. It’s a 10 week program for youth ages 13-18 where we’ll explore gender justice, build relationships, and learn how to take action for change. No experience is necessary, and ALL are welcome!!

Begins April 17th...try to get your application in as soon as possible!

Education Justice Campaign

The EJC is currently focused on working to remove the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) as a graduation requirement. Currently, over 50% of students in Washington state are failing the WASL test. Students deserve the right to graduate!

If you want to help youth organizers plan their next community event related to the WASL, come to the EJC meetings on Tuesdays from 4-6!!

PS: Check out our video (courtesy of PepperSpray Productions) of the WASL Haunted High School on youtube!!

Sex Ed Group!

NEW GROUP! Worried about what your health class ISN'T teaching you about sex?  Join other concerned students in collecting the information you need to know to be informed and responsible.  Youth organizers meet Wednesdays at 4pm.

Project Liberation

Stay tuned for our upcoming Training For Youth Trainers!  It's a three day, hands-on seminar about facilitating workshops using the popular education model.  If you like educating your peers on topics like youth organizing, racism, and the WASL--this is an opportunity you don't want to miss!

Also, email info@sypp.org if you to request SYPP to do a workshop for you.
